Detuned Reactors or Harmonic filter reactors are used in Power factor Correction Panels in series with Capacitors to avoid resonance due to presence of harmonic currents of various frequencies. Normally detuned reactors are made in 5.67%, 7% and 14% for which detuning frequency is 210, 189 and 134Hz respectively. Among these catagories 7% reactors are most famous and constitute about 80% of the orders. Based on Vthd and Ithd present at various sites reactors are futher catagorised as Normal, Heavy duty and Extra heavy duty. Normal products range is from 1-150KVAR in both Copper and Aluminium windings made of Wire, Strip and foil.
